The Role
Forbes Solicitors LLP are seeking a Legal Cashier to join our Finance (Accounts) team at our Walton Summit Office, however, the role will be initially based at our Blackburn Office. This role is full time role, working 36.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with the possibility of hybrid working from home one day per week.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced legal cashier to bring their skills and knowledge and become part of a collaborative and professional team. While the role demands the fast pace, customer focus, and high standards of a law firm, it also ensures a sustainable work-life balance, reflecting the regional area it serves.
As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for achieving successful outcomes such as:
* Undertaking daily banking functions;
* Preparing online electronic bank transfers, CHAPS, BACS and Faster;
* Bank Reconciliation - Client & Business accounts;
* Client ledger reconciliations;
* Administration of petty cash;
* Processing of client and office accounting transactions including postings;
* Processing client to office transfers;
* Complying with SRA rules;
* Month End SRA Compliance Folder;
* Answer internal and external accounts queries.
The Person
We will be progressing applicants to the next stage based on their demonstrated knowledge, experience, and skills in:
Essential
* Previous experience in a financial role with knowledge of accounting processes
* Excellent numeracy skills;
* Attention to detail and be able to work effectively, prioritising tasks by importance of completion in order to meet deadlines;
* aligns with the Firms values;
* have excellent attention to detail and organisational skills;
* have the ability to work as part of a team;
* have strong commercial awareness;
* have proven competence in their IT skills (Outlook, Word, and other systems experience);
* have good communication skills, both written and verbal;
* have an interest in long term development/progression in the department;
Desirable
* Previous experience as a Legal Cashier with knowledge of the Solicitors Accounts Rules;
* Previous experience of a case management system, preferably Partner for Windows;
* Experience of identifying areas for improvement and implementing change.
