Job title: Initial Accommodation Welfare Officer x5 Department: Contingency Operations Reporting to: Initial Accommodation Team Leader Location: Luton/ Based at a fixed Initial Accommodation site (Some travel may be required based on business need) Contract type: Permanent Hours of work: 40 hours per week - working a shift pattern including some nights and weekends based on a 6 week shift pattern. Salary: £31,475.00 per annum To manage all aspects of service delivery and compliance within contractual obligations and statutory regulations as relates to initial accommodations. This role provides direct support and management to the Service Users (SUs) with a responsibility to manage a caseload of SUs and follow procedures in order meet Key Performance Objectives. The role also involves inspection and management of accommodation and association areas used by SUs. Procedures Manage a caseload of Service Users within the current Initial Accommodation. Signpost as necessary to GP surgeries, shops, support agencies, etc. Maintain regular engagement and report any incidents, SU issues absenteeism, from the accommodation. Ensure that health and safety of SU’s and all stakeholders visiting the accommodation is always maintained in line with the company policies and procedures. Complete and record regular welfare checks of the SU’s at the Initial Accommodation sites. Ensure property standards are maintained in line with health and safety Ensure all inventory items within the property portfolio are replaced/repaired as required in line with the contract requirements and company processes and reported to relevant departments. Conduct regular inspections of accommodation and report defects as required. Ensure all items within property are replaced /repaired as required in line with inventory procedures. Ensure the properties are maintained according to Health and Safety guidelines and company procedures. To ensure all safeguarding issues are addressed and signposted in accordance with the company policies and procedures. Participate in service developments including planning, control, monitoring, review and evaluation of activities to ensure continuous improvements in service delivery. To ensure that all SU’s, and staff are treated in accordance with the Equal Opportunities policy, and fairly with consideration of their cultural, religious and physical needs. Coordinate and liaise with team members to ensure cohesive and compliant delivery of service. Connect and Collaborate Work closely with your line manager and team members Collaborate with others, attending meetings as required Supporting team members and provide on-the-job training Provide cover for other staff as agreed by line manager Attending team and other staff meetings Work with partner stakeholders onsite to support effective running of activities and facilities onsite. Develop positive relationships with SUs through engagement and supervision of activities. Responsive Keep up to date with all written and verbal communications (i.e. emails/messages/calls) Ensure all records are maintained and kept up to date according to company policies and procedures Ensure appropriate property related certification and documentation is produced and recorded Maintain working relationship with statutory auditors and inspectors as required by Senior Auditor and the management Follow procedure and ensure compliance in line with Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Liaise closely with SU’s, line manager, team members and other stakeholders when required. Assist in the local stakeholder involvement process by attending meetings as required. Liaise with local support agencies to ensure relationships are maintained. Mobilisation & Decant Support Work as directed by the line manager to ensure the process is followed when mobilising or decanting Initial Accommodation. To ensure the contractor has followed all relevant processes. To ensure Safeguarding Service User clinics are held leading up to the closure date to support the Service Users with any issues/concerns they may have.
