The Endoscopy Unit is looking for a motivated Deputy Ward Manager with excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills who is dedicated to working as part of our friendly team.
The deputy ward manager's role is to support the ward manager in the safe management of the ward and to act in the ward manager's absence to support staff, ensure patient safety and be a point of contact for the ward.
The deputy manager requires you to assist in managerial duties, the day-to-day running of the unit, and supporting junior staff members.
We are a friendly team working on a busy, fast-paced unit caring for both inpatients and outpatients.
The endoscopy unit is looking for a compassionate and caring deputy ward manager to join their bright and friendly team.
Main duties of the job
You will need to be a motivated team-oriented professional with a passion for delivering high standards of nursing care in an ever-changing environment and work within a multi-professional team; it is essential you communicate effectively within this environment and act in line with the ward's philosophy.
The successful candidate will have previous experience in a Senior Staff Nurse post or previous deputy ward manager experience. You will be required to manage the ward in the absence of the Ward Manager and be able to communicate effectively to all levels. Key elements include strong professional leadership qualities, which are critical to delivering the high standard of care our trust requires, passion to be able to motivate and increase staff morale, and the ability to manage and encourage a learning environment. Dealing with day-to-day issues that may arise such as staff sickness, roster management, mitigation, complaints, incidents, and audits. You will also be expected to support the ward manager with governance issues, training, and incident management.

Qualifications
* Registered Nurse on parts 1 or 12 NMC
* MIPS ENB 998
Experience
* Substantial experience as a staff nurse in Endoscopy, including diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
* Work history demonstrates management experience for patient's care pathway for endoscopic procedures
* Supporting information demonstrates understanding of JAG standards
