Spirehouse are currently recruiting for a Principal Temporary Accommodation Officer on behalf of a local authority in Warwickshire. The Opportunity This is a contracted role at 6 months, however there shall be an opportunity at the three month mark to potentially apply for a permanent role with the Local Authority. The purpose of this post is to supervise the Temporary Accommodation Team and to deliver a customer focused, cost effective and professional Temporary Accommodation service to meet the Councils housing duties. Duties: Provide day-to-day supervision of the temporary accommodation team including one – to- ones, team meetings and ensuring comprehensive high-quality service is delivered Ensure that Council-owned temporary homeless accommodation is managed in accordance with the Council’s policies and procedures including regular support visits, inspections and risk and accurate records are kept Ensure that the use of hotel & bed & breakfast accommodation is kept to a minimum Develop the approach to increasing access to the private rented sector for use as temporary accommodation and the prevention of homelessness. Ensure sound financial management of budgets, ensuring timely payments for accommodation and other services required. Provide comprehensive advice and support service is provided to customers in temporary accommodation to enable them to move to more settled accommodation.
