Role: SEN Tutor Location: In person, public library Hours: Monday to Friday Contract: Flexible (Term Time) We are currently seeking an experienced SEN Tutor to join us at Connex Education, we are supporting a pre-verbal year 11 pupil who requires a bespoke multi-sensory approach to learning. They require specific support around speech, language and communication. Additionally this pupil is working at a early years level, English is a second language (EAL) and also needs support in mathematics. Working in a public library, with the support of the key worker, you will be initially tutoring the pupil for a minimum of 10 hours per week. Key Responsibilities: Planning sessions to meet the needs of the young person, linked to EHCP objectives, delivering learning through play and planning multi-sensory activities to meet the needs of each pupil Reporting on pupil progress and attendance. Create a safe, supportive, and encouraging learning environment. Collaborate with carers, and other professionals to ensure cohesive support. Essential A clear vision and understanding of the requirements of pupils with special educational needs. Experience of working with pupils with severe learning difficulties. Ability to motivate and inspire learners. Ability to work with key workers/carers Personal resilience Desirable Experience working as SEN tutor/teacher, in a home or school QTS Experience of planning sessions for pupils who are accessing an alternate curriculum Evidence of training specifically relating to pupils with SLD Experience of, or willing to be trained in, ‘intensive interaction’ techniques Benefits: Flexible working hours to fit your schedule.
