We’re currently looking for an Assistant Headteacher for our school. You will be working with the Head of School in all aspects of leadership and management and to take responsibility for managing and developing learning and teaching, curriculum, assessment and enrichment throughout KS1 and KS2. Aurora Redehall School is linked to Caterham Education Centre, they share the same Principal and Head of School, however each site has its own Assistant Head and team of Teachers and TAs There is also a full therapy team on site to support staff and students. Team Teaching and modelling of good practice maybe required as part of support, development and coaching for staff. To spend up to 40% (to be directed by the Head of School) of working time classroom based demonstrating and modelling good practice and ensuring ‘quality teaching first’. To lead by example of his/her practice, and by positively encouraging, coaching and mentoring and supporting training and development for all members of the team. To take lead responsibility for ensuring the best possible curriculum offer, provision, well-being, progress and achievement for all children especially through enrichment, creative learning, extended services, partnerships and collaboration. To work with the Head of School to ensure that the school offers a high quality, exciting, engaging, well resourced, differentiated and well matched primary curriculum for all children. To develop positive relationships within the school, within the Surrey Schools and the wider Aurora Team and externally, which support the running and developing of the school towards and sustaining outstanding. Accredited training in specific areas of special education, e.g. Autism, Dyslexia etc. desirable. Management/leadership qualification desirable. Essential Experience Proven track record of excellent creative and structured teaching within the primary phase and/or special needs environment. Experience of holding responsibility for and turning policy into effective and successful practice. Leadership of a significant area or phase or inclusion, including responsibility for raising standards across the whole school. Effective team management and working collaboratively and effectively with others. Communicating effectively to a wide range of different audiences though a range of different mediums.
