We are looking for a
n ambitious and a motivated Project Manager to work on UKRI AI Hub project, based at the Department of Computer Science. The post-holder will oversee the day-to-day running of the research group and will be responsible for the operations of the research group, will act as a force multiplier on the group’s impact, and will promote its global reputation. This post is an exciting opportunity for someone who is keen to support and collaboratively work with a fast paced and world-leading research group. You will be responsible for translating the vision of the group into an operational plan and executing the same. You will coordinate with multiple stakeholders across industry and academia to organise and manage the group's project portfolio. Led by Professor Michael Bronstein (DeepMind Chair in Artificial Intelligence, Department of Computer Science), the Hub will focus on the mathematics and computational research which is foundational to AI, and which could unlock new, more efficient AI systems. In particular, the hub will seek new AI breakthroughs by employing theoretical tools from currently underexplored mathematical fields. The ideal candidate will expertly coordinate between various departments and teams, write grants proposals, develop project and donor reports, assist in research dissemination by refining the group’s communication, outreach, and collaboration strategies. The PM will lead and drive the group’s HR, finance, and health and safety related processes, coordinate with the relevant stakeholders as required. They will also ensure that the relevant administrative duties are carried out to support the delivery of the project, designating funds where needed to achieve this aim.
