Maintenance & Installation Engineer (RO)

Job Purpose
We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance & Installation Engineer to join the UK Atomic Energy Authority (UKAEA) team. This role supports the M&E contract by providing technical support and efficient administrative functions to facilitate a customer-focused service delivery.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Project Management: Oversee current and proposed projects, including the replacement of water mains both internally and externally across approximately 100 multi-occupied buildings on an 80-hectare site.
Compliance Review: Ensure all work complies with current legislation by reviewing proposals and specifications.
Coordination: Arrange building access for maintenance or project work by liaising with building managers or stakeholders to agree on suitable dates and times.
Risk Management: Ensure that RAMS for contractors and subcontractors are suitable and complete UKAEA approval forms where required.
Planning Meetings: Attend preplanning and coordination meetings to present 4-week look-ahead plans and schedules.
Documentation: Raise RFWs, WAFs, and Work Control Packs in advance to ensure access is approved.
Communication: Liaise with relevant term and subcontractors to ensure effective stakeholder communication and escalate issues to the relevant CPM.
Audit & Reporting: Manage and audit all work on the UKAEA CMMS (Mainsaver) for effective report management.
Team Interaction: Collaborate with team members to ensure deconfliction regarding Reactive, Remedial, Planned, and Project works.
Sustainability: Review and manage the site's Gas usage strategy, focusing on sustainable future solutions for gas boiler district heating systems.
Reporting: Present project details and technical information to colleagues and clients, write reports, and manage project budgets.
Compliance & Contracts: Stay updated with regulatory legislation, write and advertise tender documents, and manage contracts.
Contingency: Provide holiday/sick cover as needed to ensure business continuity.
Training: Complete mandatory UKAEA training as required.
Knowledge and Expertise
Water Compliance: Collaborate with the water hygiene team to ensure compliance on all water-related matters.
Gas Compliance: Serve as an Authorised Person for gas compliance and HTHW district heating systems, ensuring statutory compliance on all related equipment.
Project Management: Oversee modifications, upgrades, and repairs to HTHW systems and associated plant equipment.
Strategy Development: Assist in developing long-term strategies for gas-fed boiler systems and exploring alternative environmental and cost-effective solutions.
Health & Safety

Working Relationships
Internal: Interface with onsite teams, designers, buyers, estimators, SHE Department, Finance, CPI Department, QA, and People Department.
External: Interface with UKAEA Helpdesk, Management Team, Suppliers, and Sub-contractors.
Person Specification
Essential
Understanding of key deliverables of a PPM Programme.
Proficiency in Word and Excel.

BOAS qualification.
