We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Deputy Safety Officer to join our team at St. Andrews Stadium. This role is crucial in supporting the Safety Officer to ensure the safety of all events, both on match days and beyond. In the absence of the Safety Officer, you will take on their responsibilities and lead safety efforts to ensure all procedures are followed.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Step into the Safety Officer role during match days if required, managing safety duties and ensuring compliance with safety procedures.
2. Ensure the stadium adheres to the General Safety Certificate, Spectator Safety Policy, and other relevant safety standards.
3. Liaise with local authorities (e.g., police, fire, ambulance services) to ensure match day safety for all events, including women’s and academy matches.
4. Prepare all necessary documentation before events and ensure safety protocols are in place for each match day.
5. Monitor and implement safety measures during events, escalating any concerns to the Safety Officer.
6. Assist with the recruitment, training, and assessment of stewards, ensuring they are fully prepared for their roles.
7. Coordinate the deployment of steward and gate personnel, ensuring full coverage for each event.
8. Manage incident reports and escalate issues as necessary, ensuring timely resolution and post-match feedback is communicated.
What we’re looking for in you:
1. NVQ Level 4 in Spectator Safety (or working towards).
2. Strong knowledge of crowd safety and event management.
3. Excellent organizational, communication, and planning skills.
4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other computer systems.
5. Ability to create and interpret policies.
6. Experience or qualifications in Health & Safety.
7. Previous experience in event safety or management.
