Working for the Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust Clinical Illustration Services, based predominately at Dudley, with responsibility for clinical photography at Dudley (DGHT), Wolverhampton (RWT), and Walsall (WHT), the successful applicant will be responsible for the daily operational management of clinical photography services across DGHT, RWT, and WHT.
In addition to outstanding photography skills, we are seeking someone who has proven successful management experience and is driven to deliver clinical photography services that reflect the current NHS collaborative model that builds on individual's skills and delivery of services where they are needed.
Change management will be an important part of the role. Being responsible to the Head of Service, you will be a member of and supported by a senior team who are passionate about the profession and the role it plays in today's health care. The ability to successfully engage with a broad range of teams, disciplines, and staff and navigate relationships at all organisational levels will be central to the success in this role. Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will be a qualified, experienced Clinical Photographer (full professional membership of IMI and AHCS registered) with a level 7 managerial qualification and a proven, successful track record. You will have experience of successfully delivering projects and leading teams to deliver high quality, cost-effective patient care. The role of Clinical Photography Lead includes management of staff, devolved budget control for DGHT, policy, quality control, and service delivery of all photography (clinical and general) and image management, reporting to the Clinical Illustration Head of Service at RWT.
Being a system-wide post you will have responsibilities at DGFT and across all sites where clinical illustration services are provided.
As the service lead you will actively promote the department's services concerning all clinical photography. You will represent the service internally and externally on clinical photography issues, including sensitive images, regarding consent, security, and confidentiality of clinical images.
You will maintain an up-to-date CPD portfolio to satisfy the Professional Standards of the AHCS and the Institute of Medical Illustrators.

There is a large team of IMI award-winning clinical photographers, 5 at DGHT and 11 at RWT and WHT. In addition, at RWT we also have video and animation staff, 4 graphic designers, an AV technician, and print and admin team members. The post holder will be operationally working on site with the DGFT team 4 days a week, and 1 day a week at RWT.
Line management of Senior Clinical Photographers across all Trusts where services are provided and the Clinical Photography Business Manager.
Organise daily operational requirements of the photography services (clinical and non-clinical) across all sites where services are provided, escalating issues to the Head of Service as necessary.
Work collaboratively with the Head of Service and Clinical Photography Business Manager, to contribute to and deliver operational plans and service development.
Propose, develop and implement policies and protocols relating to clinical photography where services are provided in conjunction with the Head of Service.
Photography of all clinical conditions, including specialist dermatology photography, ophthalmic imaging, and other clinical specialties where the use of specialist equipment both invasive and noninvasive is required.
Accurately capture stills and video images of clinical conditions.
Undertake non-clinical photography, video, and audio recordings. Edit video using digital editing systems.
