Permit Authorising Manager - Leading Maintenance Provider - Up to 65k
Would you like to work for an established, stable building maintenance contractor? Do you have experience in permit management, compliance, and health and safety? One of the UK's leading maintenance providers is currently looking to recruit a Permit Authorising Manager to work on one of their most prestigious contracts based at Kings Cross.
Reporting to the on-site Contract Manager, the Permit Authorising Manager will be responsible for reviewing and assessing all permit requests, managing, and authorising all permits to work at our client’s site, and reviewing assessments and scopes of work for appointed third-party contractors prior to any permits being issued or approved.
Key Responsibilities:
* Review and evaluate work requests, ensuring RAMS are relevant to tasks, and that high-risk work is conducted in accordance with an agreed safety programme, method statement, or work instruction and Permits to Work (PTW).
* Identify and apply isolations to plant and equipment through a “lock out tag out” system to produce isolation certificates.
* Produce permits to work for mechanical/electrical/working at height/confined space etc.
* Adhere to all safety standards, including risk assessment control measures and method statements to ensure that work is safely conducted.
* Issue work permits to permanent & contract staff, and sub-contractors.
* Surrender/cancel/archive PTW.
* Manage work permits in the work area ensuring simultaneous operations are identified.
Minimum Requirements:
* Fully electrically or mechanically qualified to a recognised level (BTEC / HND / HNC / ONC / Degree).
* Competent in Microsoft Office and other proprietary systems and software.
* NEBOSH General Certificate in health and safety or 5 NVQ Diploma in H&S.
* Previous operational management role – Engineering Manager, Technical Services Manager, Compliance Manager.
* Member of IOSH.
* Open, honest, trustworthy, and possess a professional attitude.
* Self-motivated with the ability to make decisions and use their own initiative.
* Can-do attitude.
* Understand the importance of following policy and procedure.
