Caudwell Marine (CM) is a start-up business backed by the billionaire and philanthropist John Caudwell and is developing an innovative, patented outboard motor. The CM organisation is a small, experienced team of people who are passionate about successfully bringing this technologically leading outboard motor to market. Each team member has a ‘hands on’ approach and supports each other for the benefit of the programme. The Purchasing Assistant will support and focus on administration specific to commercial procurement to enable the overall organisation and effectiveness of the team. For the right candidate, we will consider creating a pathway towards a Junior Buyer role. In this role, you will report to the Procurement Director. Responsibilities Expediting deliveries to ensure vendor deliveries adhere to project plans Raising POs. Collaborating with internal stakeholders to ensure orders are correct in terms of pricing, quantity, supporting documents and subsequent invoice are right first time. Handling logistics requirements for inbound items from vendors and internal domestic requirements between manufacturing sites and testing facilities Work closely with Accounts Payable to resolve and avoid invoice discrepancies where possible. Support buyers on pre and post negotiation preparations and implementation Prepare and own analytical reports on costs, service and other KPI metrics to allow accurate reporting. Provide a high level of customer service to all internal stakeholders. General departmental administrative support Manage selected vendors Previous Experience Desirable Transport office experience Stores handling/stores management experience Experience of purchasing and associated administration processes Strong IT skills including Excel and PowerPoint experience in an administrative role. Having experience of building reports and presentations for senior stakeholders will be beneficial. Ideally has also worked in a Small, Medium Enterprise (SME) and is able to demonstrate the ability to ‘roll their sleeves up’ and personally get things done as part of a small team. Additional Information Location: Coventry Working Hours & Hybrid Policy: The standard working hours for this role are Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. We offer a hybrid working arrangement, requiring three days in the office, including a mandatory in-office day on Wednesdays, and two days working from home. Flexibility may be required based on business needs.
