Job Overview
We are looking for a motivated and dynamic individual to take on the role of Research EPR & Digital Practitioner.
The main aim of the role is to provide training and improve training material for all different user groups of the research module of the Electronic Patient Record used at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust.
To support the Research Pathway Council in delivering a fit for purpose EPIC Research Module, whose users understand good practice and utilise the tools at their disposal to have an efficient and satisfactory user experience.
Main duties of the job
As the Education and Training Practitioner you will work in partnership with the Director of Research Governance & Quality across MFT hospitals and services and will be responsible for ensuring the provision of high-quality training and education in research aspects of the EPR and Digital.
You will ensure that the professional development needs of the research workforce within R&I and researchers across the Trust are met by supporting and taking responsibility for aspects of EPR/Digital education strategies through the delivery of education and training programmes and will act as an exemplary role model for learners.
You will work to embed the use of the research module of EPIC and disseminate good practice for research in Research Teams across the Trust. This will include 1:1 hands on sessions with individuals and groups so excellent people skills are required..

Qualifications
Essential criteria
* A thorough understanding of the clinical trial process.
* Graduate (health related studies) Plus further training and/or experience to post graduate diploma level.
* Appropriate teaching and education qualification or experience.
* Good Clinical Practice (GCP) certificate.
Desirable criteria
* Evidence of Masters (level 7) study.
Knowledge
Essential criteria
* Knowledge of the EPIC Research module
* Knowledge of different methods/ styles for teaching and learning underpinned by theory.
* Understanding of curriculum development including the generation of learning outcomes
* Understanding of curriculum development including the generation of learning outcomes
* Involvement with quality improvement methodology and outcome measurement.
* Microsoft office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook

Training and Experience
Essential criteria
* Practical use of the EPIC Research Module for clinical trials
* Experience in Clinical Trials Management, including set-up, financial management, data collection, audit and project management
* Experience of teaching and supervising including good practice and use of EPIC for research purposes
* Experience of having worked across professional and organisational boundaries
* Sound knowledge of all aspects of research governance and related legislation and inspection requirements (e.g. MHRA, HTA)
* Experience of the governance and approval systems within the NHS and UK CRN for clinical studies
