We are looking for an exceptional Head of Sixth Form (Science, IT or Business Specialism) to join our team for Easter 2024.
Thank you for your interest in joining our school. We're proud to have been rated 'Good' by Ofsted and are working to become a national leader in education. At MAP, we are driven by a clear and ambitious core belief: every student who joins us has the potential to get to and through university. While we recognize that this may not be the right path for all of our students, we firmly believe that having this option is a hallmark of a successful, high-quality education—one that enables our students to excel in top careers and live their best lives. We combine academic rigor with a joyful learning experience, ensuring our students gain the knowledge, experiences, and support needed to achieve their dreams.
This is an exciting time to take on this crucial leadership role in our academy. Sixth form outcomes have improved to national average and 70% of our students go on to university, including the most academically selective. We are looking for a candidate who can further grow our sixth form so that it becomes a beacon of excellence in the city and beyond. This role combines academic and pastoral leadership and so is a natural route to senior leadership, indeed you will work closely with the senior leadership team and will have opportunities to attend SLT meetings if you wish.
We prioritise staff well-being, offering work-life balance, professional development, and collaboration through the Ted Wragg Trust. We are proud to have nationally recognised for our commitment to staff wellbeing and workload reduction. The benefits of working as a teacher and leader at MAP include:
1. Fortnightly ‘Golden PPA’ where teachers can work from home.
2. No written marking.
3. Centralised, fully resourced curriculum.
4. Centralised behaviour system.
5. Weekly instructional coaching.
6. Opportunities to complete NPQs.
7. Meetings only take place on a Monday.
8. Support provided as part of the Ted Wragg Trust.
Devon is an amazing place to live and work so if moving from elsewhere a relocation package available for the right candidate.
