SEN Maths Teacher (with QTS) urgently required near Lewes. This Special school, spread over two sites, near Lewes, East Sussex, is an independent specialist institution dedicated to providing therapeutic and child-focused education to students aged 10 to 19 years. Their students come from diverse backgrounds and all have Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Many also have additional Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) such as Autism, ADHD, and communication challenges. Their work is diverse and demanding, and as an organisation informed by trauma and attachment principles, they ensure that all staff receive comprehensive therapeutic training and support. The Role The Head Teacher believes in being teachers of children first, before subjects. This role centres on understanding the child, fostering nurturing and positive relationships, and motivating students. They are seeking a Mathematics specialist. Their Maths curriculum includes Entry Level, Functional Skills, Key Stage 3, and GCSE. You'll have the support of national subject champions to help non-specialists excel in facilitating learning tailored to each child's needs.
