The business is keen to hire a talented and technically competent Electrical Building Services Design Engineer to take a leading role with electrical design schemes. Working closely with Mechanical Engineers, Energy Consultants and BIM specialists, you will be responsible for high quality collaboration that meets expectation, timescale and cost.
Your Role
* Perform detailed design calculations and sketches to meet project requirements.
* Collaborate with Engineers and Engineering Technicians on design and drawing tasks.
* Work alongside an Electrical Associate on project design, specifications, and contract administration.
* Grow your design, construction, and practical knowledge to advance to Senior Engineer status.
* Balance design work, office-based project administration, and site visits.
Key Responsibilities
* Execute detailed Electrical Building Services Design Engineering for new build and refurbishment projects.
* Carry out feasibility studies and design stages reports.
* Attend design team meetings.
* Use approved and recognised software for calculations.
* Produce and manage design work, including surveys, drawings, and specifications.
* Ensure designs meet legislative and health and safety standards.
* Create drawings for BIM/CAD and specify products, equipment, and standards for electrical services.
Qualifications/Experience
* A degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering. HND/HNC will be considered for the right candidate.
* Skills in designing electrical systems from concept to detailed design, including:
* Low voltage electrical distribution (BS7671)
* Internal, external, and emergency lighting (CIBSE Lighting guides)
* Small and fixed power supplies
* Fire alarm and detection systems
* ICT structured cabling
* Cable containment
* Proficiency in Amtech / Relux
* Understanding of Building Regulations Part L compliance
* Competency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
