Key Objectives:
* Effectively carry out all responsibilities of the Registered Manager and be responsible for all aspects of managing the home.
* Maintain a high-quality service that meets regulatory requirements and standards for residential care homes and registered housing associations.
* Ensure the best use of resources available to meet the needs of residents.
* Work with others within the Company to promote the home positively and professionally, encouraging the involvement of residents, relatives, friends, and the local community.
Main Tasks:
Management of Resident Care and Support
* Demonstrate a strong commitment to supporting older people and providing high-quality person-centred care by managing the care home flexibly and sensitively, addressing individual and group needs.
* Promote the physical, social, intellectual, emotional well-being, and independence of residents through comprehensive needs and risk assessments, and by developing, implementing, monitoring, and reviewing individual person-centred care plans.
* Promote best practices within the care team.
* With the assistance of the Deputy Home Manager, consult residents and their families on matters of concern and ensure regular resident/relatives’ meetings are held and recorded.
* Encourage resident involvement and participation in the day-to-day running of the home.
* Develop and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, volunteers, and visiting professionals, including regulators.
* Support and work closely with residents’ families and friends, offering professional and emotional support sensitive to their needs.
* Ensure that all Company policies and procedures, especially those concerning residents' well-being, are implemented.
* Promote residents' health and general well-being and arrange for medical attention when necessary.
* Manage an effective system for the safe control and administration of medication following procedures.
* Maximise care home occupancy and ensure adherence to procedures for admitting and discharging residents.
* Provide reliable assessments of residents’ needs and support residents requiring alternative accommodations if the care home cannot meet their needs.
* Ensure complete and compliant records are maintained.
Management of Care Home Staff
* In conjunction with the HR Manager, recruit staff and ensure appropriate staff cover is provided at all times.
* Monitor the performance of the Deputy Home Managers and Senior Care Workers, identify training needs, and ensure suitable training is provided.
* Provide management leadership, support, and guidance to all staff through effective supervision and appraisal meetings to help them perform their best.
* Ensure proper management of all aspects of health and safety for staff, residents, and visitors, meeting all regulatory requirements.
Strategic Development and Implementation
* Translate strategic care objectives into practical operational plans and monitor their progress.
* Develop and promote collaborative relationships across public, private, and voluntary sectors to enhance the care services provided.
* Stay updated on legislative changes and sector developments, evaluate their impact, and implement necessary changes.
* Contribute to financial budget development and management.
* Promote best practices in dementia care.
* Provide accurate and timely reporting, information, and advice to the Chief Executive and Management Board.
General
* Attend and establish staff meetings as appropriate and participate in one-to-one sessions as agreed.
* Attend relevant training and development sessions agreed upon with the Chief Executive.
* Participate in Senior Management Team meetings and strategy sessions.
* Maintain registration requirements with regulatory bodies, including RQIA and NISCC.
* Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge and proven experience of safeguarding legislation, policies, and procedures.
* Maintain resident confidentiality at all times.
* Comply with safe working practices as required by legislation.
* Uphold and promote equality and diversity in all employment and service delivery aspects.
* Be available for evening and weekend work as required and travel as necessary.
* Carry out any reasonable duties as requested.
Candidate Profile
Essential Requirements:
* Degree level or equivalent professional qualification in health/social care.
* Qualifications meeting the RQIA registration requirements for a Registered Manager.
* At least two years of management experience in a health and social care setting, working with older people.
* Thorough understanding of the needs of individuals with dementia.
* Proven ability to lead effectively, supervise, and support a team.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Ability to network effectively across public, private, and voluntary sectors.
* Experience in public speaking and presenting at conferences.
* Ability to work independently and manage workload.
Desirable Requirements:
* Relevant postgraduate qualification.
* Relevant training or assessment qualification (e.g., Manual Handling Trainer).
* Experience working with volunteers.
Additional Requirements:
* Willingness and ability to travel.
* Full current driving license and access to a motor vehicle. Alternative travel arrangements will be considered for applicants with disabilities unable to hold a driving license.

* Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
* 25 days of annual leave plus 11 statutory days.
