This role forms part of the frontline of a multi-disciplinary team, working with children and adolescents experiencing a crisis, within the borders of Hertfordshire. You will provide specialist assessments, follow-ups, and short-term interventions for young people aged under 18 suffering from acute and complex emotional, behavioral, and psychological crises.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for an experienced Mental Health Nurse to join our service. Our clinicians provide crisis telephone line support, triage and assessment as well as face-to-face assessments, follow-ups, and brief interventions in the community. Most referrals currently come from the two A&Es in Hertfordshire, although with our new crisis telephone line we are trying to prevent anyone attending A&E if they do not have a physical need to be there. The C-CATT service operates 24/7; this role will involve day, evening, night, and weekend working.
Additional positions, at the same banding, are available during weekdays 9-5, or condensed hours 8-6 over 4 days, with scope for some weekend work. As well as a relevant professional qualification we are looking for people who are:
1. Knowledge of Mental Health problems that affect young people
2. An ability to work with Children and Young People in challenging situations.
3. A car driver is an essential element to the role (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010 which prevents you from driving).
