Overview
We are seeking a Civils Contract Manager to oversee the successful delivery of civils projects on clean and dirty water sites for Thames Water. In this role, you will proactively lead the team, ensuring projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and to the highest standards.
Salary: Up to £65k, plus a company car or £5k car allowance
Working Arrangement: Hybrid working between Chawston, Thames Water sites and home
We are a direct delivery specialist contractor to both the water industry and wider water environment. We currently hold 30 frameworks, and we work with most of the UK’s water companies and the Environment Agency.
What you'll be doing
Reporting to the Regional Director, you will oversee the Thames Water Framework, ensuring its successful management and delivery:
1. Plan effectively from pre-construction to post-construction in line with all relevant policies, procedures, and best working practices.
2. Oversee Project and Site Coordinators, providing guidance where required.
3. Produce site files, including but not limited to the project programme, RAMS, CPPs, and quality documentation.
4. Liaise effectively with the Commercial and support teams to control the finances on each job.
5. Liaise with Coordinators and Supervisors to take accountability for accurate and timely submission of completed works and time sheets for the team.
6. Ensure an understanding of the Company's Health and Safety Policy and the allocated responsibilities under the Health and Safety At Work Act including those under the CDM Regulations 2015.
7. Take the lead on larger projects with increased complexity, risk, and value.
Who we’re looking for
* Extensive experience in the delivery of civil engineering projects.
* Full clean UK driving licence.
* A good communicator, able to liaise confidently and deal with a variety of people including the client, suppliers and wider team members face-to-face, in writing and on the telephone.
* Organised, focused and self-determined.
* Possess a positive attitude and be committed to high levels of care for staff and the client.
* Strong IT skills, in particular MS Excel.
* Good time management and prioritisation skills.
* The ability to deal with conflict in a timely and equitable manner.
