Home-Start Stroud and Gloucester is looking for a Chief Executive to lead our team and guide our work supporting local families through the challenges of early parenthood. About the Role
As Chief Executive, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the charity, ensuring we continue to provide high-quality services to families in need. While the Trustees set the strategic direction, you will collaborate with them to turn their plans into action. You will manage resources, oversee operations, lead a fantastic team, and represent Home-Start to key supporters and partners in the community. We are looking for someone who has strong analytical abilities to evaluate service delivery and impact, along with a proven track record in securing and managing funding. You will also need to have excellent team management skills, inspiring and supporting our staff and volunteers to achieve their best.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead and oversee the charity's day-to-day operations, ensuring our services have a meaningful impact on local families.
2. Work closely with our Board of Trustees to implement the charity's strategic goals.
3. Analyse service delivery, identify opportunities for improvement, and track impact to ensure we are meeting the needs of families.
4. Inspire, support, and manage a talented team of staff and volunteers, fostering a positive and effective working environment.
5. Ensure the charity's financial sustainability by managing resources effectively and generating sustainable income.
6. Build and nurture relationships with key stakeholders, funders, and the local community to ensure long-term support.
7. Lead fundraising efforts, including securing new funding streams, and ensuring efficient use of resources to maximize impact.
About You
We are looking for an experienced leader who is passionate about making a positive difference in the community. You will have:
1. Senior leadership experience, ideally in the charity, social care, or voluntary sector.
2. Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate and improve service delivery.
3. Extensive experience in fundraising, with a proven track record in securing and managing funding.
4. Excellent team management skills, with the ability to inspire and lead staff and volunteers.
5. The ability to work collaboratively with a Board of Trustees to deliver on strategy.
6. Strong operational and financial management experience.
7. Excellent communication skills and the ability to inspire and engage stakeholders.
8. A deep commitment to supporting families and communities, with a shared passion for our mission.
