Job Summary
An opportunity has arisen for motivated and enthusiastic individuals, who wish to work within a multi-professional team, committed to delivering a high standard of care to both patients and their families. Previous experience in a health & social care or palliative care setting is desirable though not essential, as full training and support will be available for all suitable candidates who wish to progress within the hospice care setting.
Main duties of the job
Whilst ensuring the highest clinical standards and quality of care are maintained, you will have the ability to contribute to and sustain a caring and friendly environment within the Hospice, working as part of a multi-professional team. Flexibility is essential as all posts within Children's Services are based upon an internal rota which includes days, nights and weekends to meet the needs of a 24/7 clinical provision.

Person Specification
Experience
Essential
* Previous experience within a healthcare/childcare setting.
Desirable
* Previous experience within a palliative care or community setting.
* Previous experience with complex needs and/or disabilities.
Knowledge
Desirable
* Good understanding of regulatory safeguarding issues with children.
* Good interpersonal and team working skills.
* Confident in using information technology.
* Good communication skills.
* Good awareness of caring for those patients who may have communication challenges.
* Awareness of the importance of play and its value when working with patients with life-limiting illness.
Qualifications
Essential
* Good standard of general education GCSEs.
Desirable
* NVQ level 2 in Child Care, Health and Social Care, NNEB or similar clinical qualification.
* Bereavement training.
* Full driving license (required for community working).
