Due to our constant expansion, An opportunity has arisen for an experienced, qualified HGV/Mechanic fitter to join our team, to complete running repairs and MOT Prep on a fleet of over 50 vehicles and trailers. Nick Brookes Group operate a modern fleet of mostly Scania vehicles which are all serviced/Inspected at the relevant main dealers overnight. The ideal candidates for this role will possess a strong foundation in the practical maintenance and repair of both heavy and light commercial vehicles. This experience should encompass a wide range of tasks, from routine preventative maintenance like oil changes, filter replacements, and brake inspections, to more complex repairs involving engine diagnostics, transmission work, and electrical systems. A familiarity with a diverse array of vehicle makes and models is highly desirable, as is the ability to quickly and accurately diagnose issues and implement effective solutions. Ultimately, the successful candidates will be individuals who are committed to maintaining the operational efficiency and safety of the commercial fleet. You must have the ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team as required and be able to complete the necessary documentation required. Working pattern would be : Monday - Friday and every other Saturday morning. Key responsibilities: Maintaining & repairing company vehicles & trailers in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with current legislation. Routine vehicle maintenance and repairs to DVSA standards. Preparation and presentation of vehicles and trailers for annual MOT inspection. To communicate effectively with the Workshop Manager Good housekeeping routines to meet H&S requirements and maintain a safe workplace. Ensure all paperwork is completed to a high standard. Good IT skills Qualifications and Experience: Must have completed a recognised Heavy Vehicle qualification (i.e. City & Guilds or NVQ) Must have a proven track record of commercial vehicle repair Full UK driving Licence is essential (HGV Class 1 or 2 licence is preferred but not necessary) Previous experience with skip and hook loaders an advantage Good rates of pay - negotiable depending on experience.
