Shift Pattern: Monday-Sunday (Variety of shifts; early, late, twilight, and night shifts)
Pay Rate:
£21 per hour (Monday - Friday, 06:00 - 20:00)
£24 per hour (Saturdays and nights)
£27 per hour (Sundays and Bank Holidays)Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Band 5 Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) to join the team at Highfield Adolescent Unit within Warneford Hospital. This role offers the opportunity to work with young people in a supportive and dynamic CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services) environment. As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality care, support, and treatment to adolescents with mental health conditions, managing a variety of emotional and behavioural challenges. This position requires flexibility to work across a 24/7 shift pattern, including night shifts, weekends, and bank holidays.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide safe, person-centred nursing care to children and young people in a CAMHS inpatient setting.
Conduct thorough assessments, contribute to care planning, and ensure effective implementation of care plans for patients.
Provide therapeutic interventions, offering support to both young people and their families.
Manage and respond to challenging behaviours in a calm and professional manner, demonstrating emotional robustness and resilience.
Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals.
Ensure a commitment to safeguarding children, young people, and vulnerable adults, acting in the best interests of the patients at all times.
Work within established policies and procedures to maintain the highest standards of nursing practice.
Demonstrate a strong commitment to professional development and continuous learning.Essential Criteria:
Qualified Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with a valid NMC registration.
Proven CAMHS experience is essential for this role.
Ability to work a flexible 24-hour shift pattern, including nights, weekends, and bank holidays.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and engage with young people and their families.
Strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Demonstrated ability to manage challenging behaviours effectively and to remain calm under pressure.
A reliable and trustworthy individual with a good sickness record.
Genuine interest and commitment to working with young people and their families, promoting their mental health and well-being.Desirable Criteria:
Additional experience in working within an adolescent mental health setting or in inpatient CAMHS units.
