Job summary The Clinical Director holds the responsibility for ensuring the provision and maintenance of a high quality, appropriate medical care to SAFE Centre clients and willplay a key role in the development of the Centre. You will make a significant contribution to the SAFE Centres strategic planning, policy formulation and to the achievement of the Centres objectives. You willcontribute to the strategic planning and development of the SARC. This is a part time post for 12 months. It is anticipated that the Clinical Director role will consist of either 3 Progammed Activities or 12 hours per week but in addition to the Clinical Director role should the applicant wish to offer regular sessions to the SAFE centre we have the option to offer hours up to a full-time post. Main duties of the job To provide clinical leadership, ensuring complainants (service users) receive safe and effective care To manage peer review for the sexual offence examiners To ensure SARC delivery is in line with national guidelines (FFLM, Forensic Regulator, BASHH), relating to forensic medical examinations Sexual health (including assessment for prophylactic treatments for HIV and Hepatitis B) Risk assessments around mental health Safeguarding To ensure that high standards of clinical care within the Centre are provided and maintained. To carry out forensic medical examinations at the request of the police and self-referring complainants. To liaise with other health professionals as required, ensuring that appropriate referrals are provided for complainants To provide clinical direction for the sexual offence examiner About us To keep up to date with relevant guidance and polices (FFLM, Forensic Regulator, NHS England) to ensure best practice. To develop clinical pathways with regard to other specialist services, e.g. mental health and sexual health services To develop and implement changes in practice that deliver significant and substantial improvements in access and service delivery. To develop, implement and review clinical procedures and attend regional or national meetings such as NHSE contract meetings, Rape and Serious Sexual Offences (RASSO) meetings, Scrutiny meetings with Lancashire Constabulary To attend Trust directorate meetings as appropriate - Safety and Quality, Divisional Board. To contribute to training and development planning for SARC staff, health, police. Ensuring there is effective professional education and development in order for sexual offence examiners at the SAFE Centre are competent to practice. To arrange and attend regular peer review meetings for sexual offence examiners working in the SAFE Centre. To contribute to risk management through the review of cases, gaps in service, confidentiality issues and poor clinical performance. To contribute to the development of operational procedures and policy formation for the SAFE Centre.
