IQGeo is seeking a Technical Writer to support our Web and Mobile Software training requirements for domestic and international customers.

You will be joining our Client Services Organization team, with offices located in UK, USA, and CANADA. As a Technical Writer, you will be responsible for creating content that will be used to deliver our user training programs across multiple product offerings. The person in this role is expected to be capable of working independently, and as a team member, and should have a strong background in software content creation for effective user adoption.
Responsibilities
As an integral part of the Client Services Organization team, the successful candidate will be developing course content material for the onboarding of new and existing customers, and internally within our organization. Your goal is to create content that will be taught to users to drive the successful uptake of our products and help provide the best journey experience possible. Your duties and responsibilities will include:
* Develop software applications training programs to users of various skill levels; remote and on-site trainings
* Review, write, restructure, revise existing content to provide the most favourable user-focused experience
* Update, maintain, and continuously improve existing training documents and create new training documents for various departments and job functions
* Develop learning aids for self-paced training material, job aids, videos and demo scripts
* Participate in documentation planning with product teams
* Train team members on new curriculum content to deliver quality trainings
* Communicate software problems and issues to support teams
* Any other duties as required
Person Specification
Successful candidates will be enthusiastic individuals with a computer science background who have a desire to help people learn and succeed with our products.
Essential
* Proven ability to collaborate with subject matter experts to develop technical expertise on software
* Proven ability to develop technical documents (clear, concise, and understandable for the target audience) for instructor materials (course outlines, background materials, training aids) and student materials (course manuals, handouts) for instructor led trainings
* Excellent communication skills and ability to explain complex products or processes to the general audience
* Flexible and have ability to interact with all levels in the organization
* Detail-oriented – you enjoy learning technical details of software products so that you can in turn help our customers use our products to solve problems
* Self-starter with high energy and drive to meet the needs of a demanding environment
* Strong organizational and time-management abilities
* Highly motivated individual to grasp software and learn quickly; able to manage priorities with moderate supervision
* Knowledge or technical experience in an IT, design, or computer and information technology related field
* Sample of prior work must be presented at interview
Desirable
* Background in SaaS writing strongly preferred
* Knowledge or experience with software development lifecycle
* Familiarity with applications such as GitHub, Jenkins, Docker, Rancher, or similar
* Knowledge or experience in the telecommunications or utilities sector
Education / Experience
* College diploma or university degree in the field of English, communications, or related field
* 2+ years of experience as a software technical writer
