Key responsibilities and duties:
1. Tocarry out final and in-process inspection of gas turbine engine components during the repair/ rework cycle, in accordance with production schedule requirements and to meet published OEM manual limits;
2. Conduct all work in accordance with company policies, health and safety procedures, quality procedures, manufactures and customer specification and industry regulations;
3. Complete all documents related to the work being performed;
4. Inspection of parts following restoration of specific features to acceptable limits, from existing datums, as defined in the repair process documentation;
5. Carry out final inspection of work (or production tooling), in accordance with approved documentation / data;
6. Produce release certification for repaired/ overhauled parts as necessary;
7. Raise Navixa Task Cards for in house repairs as necessary;
8. Carry out inspection of parts for handling/ transit damage and for obvious damage incurred during the rework cycle;
9. Ensure all equipment is safe and satisfactory to use, rectifying any unsafe conditions within the jobholder’s capability;
10. To verify that all specifications and requirements are complied with, making sure only approved materials and parts are used;
11. Re-identification of parts following modification in accordance with Service Bulletins/ Commercial Engine Bulletins requirements;
12. Operation of CNC Co-Ordinate Measuring Machine using Mitutoyo control systems;
13. Reserve/ Allocate repair details parts to achieve class fits with machined features;
14. Ensure all repair routing paperwork is completed, stamped, dated, and filed accordingly;
15. Carry out scheduled preventative maintenance on machine tools, as defined in machine log books;
16. Adherence to our Quality Management Systems (QMS), Safety Management Systems (SMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS) and all associated Business Manuals.
Competencies:
Core:
Essential
17. Team Worker that has the ability to fully interact with other team members;
18. Ability to manage priorities in a busy working environment, and follow a given production schedule;
19. Excellent communication skills required both written and verbal;
20. Able to read, write and carry out calculations accurately. Knowledge of Geometry and Trigonometry advantageous.
Desirable
21. Ability to provide advice as a subject matter expert.
Functional:
Essential
22. Familiarity with aerospace quality procedures and documentation including process documentation;
23. Experience from a machining environment, preferably (but not essentially) from Aerospace;
24. Practical experience of CMM operating in industry;
25. Ability to read and use precision measuring equipment;
26. Ability to read technical engineering drawings, both modern and older standards;
27. Able to read, follow and action approved machining and inspection in accordance with approved information and procedures;
28. Familiarity with metric and imperial measurement.
Desirable
29. Proficient in the use of Navixa ERP system.
Organisational Relationships:
30. Responsible individual who can build upon building a relationship with customer and suppliers. Requires full co-operation across and within other business departments.
Professional Qualifications/Education and Training:
Essential
31. Recognised indentured apprenticeship or military equivalent;
32. Human Factors.
Desirable
33. Suitable engineering qualification.
Experience:
34. Previous experience within an aerospace MRO environment, preferably from a mechanical background.
