Sussex Teachers are working with a small Church of England primary school in central Brighton to find an Early Years teaching assistant to join their reception team until the end of this academic year. Working part-time, Monday – Friday, from 8.45 am to 12.15 pm (17.5 hours per week), you will be available from the beginning of January until the end of this academic year (July 2025).

Key Responsibilities
Supporting learners aged 4 – 5 years old, no two days will be the same! Educating within the Early Years will involve fun and creative lessons with play-based learning activities. You will significantly contribute to children’s development and learning with imaginative play and exploration of their environment; both in and outside the classroom. Supporting the class teacher, you encourage children to learn new skills, overcome challenges and grow into engaged and enthusiastic learners.
* Collaborate with the class teacher and SENDCo to implement individual education plans (IEPs).
* Support children’s social, emotional, and educational development.
* Assist in the delivery of inspiring and exciting lessons, promoting high expectations for achievement and behaviour.
* Contribute to the promotion of inclusive education, helping to create a supportive and nurturing classroom environment.
Requirements
* Recent experience working with children, either within a classroom, nursery, medical, or care home setting.
* You must be available Monday – Friday for part-time hours, from 8.45 am – 12.15 pm.
