Faculty
The School of Archaeological and Forensic Sciences is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated person to join us to manage our Facility supported by AHRC under the Research Infrastructure for Conservation and Heritage Science scheme- ‘From Land to Sea: a facility for prospection, landscapes and people’.
The School of Archaeological and Forensic Sciences conducts internationally recognised interdisciplinary research blending cultural archaeology with cutting edge science to explore the past within the context of contemporary challenges. This research has been recognised by internal and external investment of over £6M, of which the RICHeS award is the most recent, and builds on our extensive track record in archaeological prospection, submerged landscapes and visualising heritage.
What you will be doing:
The main purpose of the role is to manage the Facility funded by AHRC under the RICHeS scheme- ‘From Land to Sea: a facility for prospection, landscapes and people’. In particular this will include:
• Day-to-day running of the Facility and enabling access to the resources
• Safe storage, management and maintenance of laboratory and field equipment
• Advice on applications to use the Facility and maintenance of records of use
• Coordinating training in the use of equipment and maintain training records.
• Contributing to and occasionally leading on significant multidisciplinary complex research, commercial and teaching projects
Qualifications/ experience:
• A minimum of a degree in a relevant area and ideally a Masters or higher qualification
• Detailed and extensive knowledge of theory and practical experience relevant to the Facility
• Experience of leading and managing projects
• Proven ability to provide written reports in a timely manner
