About the Company:
Our client is a leading façades contractor specialising in designing, supplying, and installing façade systems, including rainscreen cladding, curtain walling, and re-cladding/remediation projects. They work on a variety of residential, commercial, and public sector projects. Due to continued growth, they are looking for an experienced Senior Façades Estimator to join their team.
Role Overview:
The Senior Façades Estimator will prepare accurate and competitive tenders for projects involving façade systems like rainscreen cladding and façade remediation. You will work with the pre-construction team, project managers, and clients to deliver successful bids. This role requires strong industry knowledge and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:
1.
Analyse tender documents, drawings, and specifications.
2.
Prepare cost estimates, covering materials, labour, and preliminaries.
3.
Collaborate with the design team to ensure cost-effective solutions.
4.
Source and negotiate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
5.
Assess risks and include contingencies.
6.
Maintain a cost database for suppliers and subcontractors.
7.
Attend meetings with clients to discuss tenders.
8.
Provide technical advice and clarify queries.
9.
Work with the Commercial Manager and design team to align on project goals.
10.
Offer value engineering options to reduce costs.
11.
Keep updated on industry trends, material costs, and competitor pricing.
12.
Ensure compliance with fire safety regulations for façade remediation projects.
Essential Requirements:
1.
Proven experience as an Estimator in the façades industry, especially with rainscreen cladding and remediation projects.
2.
Knowledge of façade systems, materials, and installation methods.
3.
Strong numerical and analytical skills.
4.
Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Project).
5.
Organised, with the ability to handle multiple tenders.
6.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Desirable Skills:
1.
HNC/HND or degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
2.
Experience with residential and commercial projects.
3.
Knowledge of design and build procurement.
