Mission:
Ensure Schneider-Electric employees and operations maintain compliance with all environments, health, and safety regulations; and keep abreast of any changes to laws and regulations that impact the organization.
Key responsibilities:
1. Assist in maintaining appropriate metrics, evaluate data trending, and provide data input to management reviews, with a view to continuous improvement and enhancement of EHS performance.
2. Assist with the implementation of EHS policies, practices, guidelines, and procedures. Identify location-specific requirements for each area and participate in the development of related programs and policies.
3. Assist in developing training programs and conduct training to comply with regulatory corporate EHS initiatives.
4. Supervise the incident/accident investigation process including root cause analysis and ensure corrective actions are completed.
5. Conduct environment, health and safety audits and risk assessments. Participate in external EHS compliance audits and loss prevention audits.
6. Coordinate the completion of all corrective actions with site personnel resulting from risk assessments, compliance audits or loss prevention audits.
7. Manage facilities maintenance and property management personnel to ensure appropriate fire and life safety controls are in place and maintained.
8. Oversee required permitting submissions for air, water, and land jurisdictional requirements.
9. Serve as site contact point for government inquiries relating to EHS.
10. Function as a technical EHS resource for management and the safety committee. Lead the site safety committee.
11. Participate in the site's Continuous Improvement/Lean/5S activities. Provide recommendations for improving EHS practices within the facility.
12. Oversee site ergonomics program with assistance from third party resource.
13. Coordinate with regional security manager to ensure appropriate life safety measures are in place.
14. Manage and co-ordinate facility programs and projects.
15. Manage team of SERE, facility and maintenance specialists.
Who will you report to?
1. This role shall report to the Plant Director.
Qualifications/Experience:
1. NEBOSH Diploma and a certified member of IOSH.
2. Proven experience in Employee Health & Safety work and activities related to environmental governance plus ideally previous facilities management experience.
3. Desirable - Qualified ISO auditor.
