Legal Assistant
A well-established and closely knit law firm is currently seeking a Legal Assistant to join their Residential Property Department. This role is ideal for someone who is organised, self-driven, and eager to contribute to a small, dynamic team known for its supportive environment.
The ideal candidate will bring a minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar position. The primary responsibility will be to offer comprehensive administrative support to a dedicated Solicitor within this busy department, while also being flexible enough to cover for other Assistants during absences.
Key duties and responsibilities include:
1. Managing the progression of residential property transactions from instruction to completion.
2. Preparing and submitting applications to the Land Registry.
3. Drafting and reviewing legal documents such as contracts, transfers, and completion statements.
4. Liaising with clients, estate agents, and other solicitors to facilitate smooth communication.
5. Conducting searches and gathering necessary documentation.
6. Managing post-completion work, including handling Stamp Duty Land Tax submissions and registration formalities.
Key qualifications for this role include:
1. Strong numerical skills and experience with legal billing.
2. Exceptional organisational abilities and a methodical approach to tasks.
3. Capability to prioritise workloads independently, with minimal supervision.

5. Strong written and verbal communication skills.

This is a full-time, office-based position, offering working hours from 9.00 am to 5.30 pm, Monday to Friday, at the firm's Haywards Heath location.
