Vehicle Mechanic Apprentice Coach Locations: East Anglia & Kent Salary: £36,400 + Benefits Role Type: 12 Months Fixed Term Contract What you'll be doing? The Apprenticeship Coach will play a key role in supporting the security of the nation and the equipment used by the British Army. This includes overseeing the fleet management of over 50,000 vehicles, ranging from quad bikes and generators to main battle tanks, and weapons from pistols to cannons. On a daily basis, the Apprenticeship Coach will visit vehicle mechanic learners at their workplaces, using vocational experience and knowledge to deliver learning, coach, assess, and support them through their apprenticeship journey. Prior training experience is not required, they'll support you in gaining a teaching qualification. Main areas of focus Support, motivate, and coach all learners through their apprenticeship programme, ensuring all components are completed in a timely manner while meeting the requirements of awarding organisations, the ESFA, and Ofsted. Monitor and review learners' progress in line with customer expectations. Ensure all required documentation is completed to the correct standard and within agreed timelines. Provide portfolio building advice and guidance to learners based on programme requirements. Effectively record, plan, and track individual learner progress, adhering to agreed paperwork and reporting processes. Role Details: This is a full-time role, working 37 hours per week on a 12-month fixed-term contract. The role is primarily remote but requires travel to locations including Colchester, Ipswich, Kent, and Woodbridge four days per week. Agile working may be available, depending on business needs, and flexible working arrangements (e.g., part-time, condensed hours, or job sharing) can be discussed during the interview. Essential Experience: Considerable experience in the vehicle mechanic field. Strong understanding of work-based learning programmes. Previous experience in the defence sector, particularly within the army, is desirable but not essential. Qualifications: Relevant industry-related qualification in Vehicle Mechanics (minimum of Level 3). GCSE in Maths and English (Grade C or above) or equivalent qualification. Security Clearance: The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain SC security clearance, as well as Enhanced DBS and Child Barred Service (EDBSCBL) clearance.
