Job Title: SEN Teacher - KS1 Curriculum Location: Leyland, Nr Preston, Lancashire Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent Salary: M1 –M6 (dependent on experience) Role Overview: Our client are currently looking for an experienced Teacher in Leyland, Nr. Preston in which the school provides specialist academic and therapeutic support in a welcoming environment for students aged 9-16 who face challenges associated with social, emotional and mental health needs. Key Responsibilities: To be responsible for the day to day running of the class and assist in other relevant aspects of the day to day running of the school. To assess, record and report pupils’ progress according the school’s policy in order to monitor and foster pupils’ progress in all areas of learning. To take responsibility for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils according to the school’s policies, including safeguarding and PREVENT. To lead support and supervision sessions for Assistant Teachers and Higher Level Teaching Assistants including Professional Development Reviews. To attend and contribute to teachers’ meetings, multi-disciplinary meetings and any other relevant staff meetings. To ensure a high standard of personal care for the pupils, carefully monitoring the health and well-being of pupils informing the care staff, medical staff, behaviour support team and any other relevant professionals of any concerns. Experience PGCE, QTS, Cert Ed or equivalent teaching qualification and evidence of in-service training. At least 2 years Teaching Experience with completion of ECT Working knowledge of students with complex needs and SEND. Evidence of sound knowledge of the Early years and KS1 curriculum. Knowledge, understanding and experience of autism and associated co-morbid conditions and how these can affect learning.
