Job summary Are we what youre looking for? Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist based with Herefordshire Community Learning Disability Team, Trust Team of the year 2022. We are a friendly and supportive MDT, innovative in our service delivery and are seeking an enthusiastic therapist to join us. You will use your initiative, work proactively, and respond flexibly to changing demands of the role and work jointly with other health and care professionals. The Speech and Language Therapy Team across Herefordshire and Worcestershire work together using a mix of face-to-face visits, remote working, and social media to support service users. You will have access to a range of benefits including car leasing, health and wellbeing support, carer passports and staff networks e.g LGBTQ Main duties of the job You will provide assessment, diagnosis and develop bespoke therapy plans for those presenting with communication difficulties and/ or dysphagia arising from a range of conditions related to a learning disability. Work with families, carers, and provider services in a variety of settings as needed to enable good outcomes. This may be creating communication passports, AAC both low and high tech and promoting Inclusive and Total Communication, Intensive Interaction, or dysphagia mealtime plan. Maintain your own caseload within safe levels and support the team in prioritising referrals and managing the waiting list. Contribute to social media and resource development, improvements in evidence-based practice and be proactive in personal and service delivery improvements. Supervise and allocate work to assistants, students and less experienced therapists.
