Cyber and Digital Adviser
Location: The role will be based at either Farnborough (Show Centre ETPS Road, Farnborough GU14 6FD) or London Office (Salamanca Square 9 Albert Embankment, Herne Hill SE1 7SP). Hybrid working - 3 days in the office and 2 days from home.
ADS represents and supports over 1,300 UK businesses operating in the aerospace, defence, security and space sectors. The Role
This is an entry level role within a new team focussed on Cyber & Digital at ADS, reporting to the deputy Director of Cyber & Digital. A pivotal role within the team, leading on engagement with the full plethora of domestic and international stakeholders in the security and resilience sector on behalf of our members. This ranges from seniors and operational leads in relevant government departments and across the private sector, from CNI operators to venue owners, retail and finance, all end users of our members world leading capability. In this role you will lead in organising our monthly security briefings, identifying topics and securing speakers that provide our members with valuable information, clear demand signals and strategic horizon scanning. You will support other engagements and set piece events, including the Home Office Security and Policing Event, where ADS provides the industry lead.
In addition, you will support our cyber and digital offer for the ADS sectors, providing thought leadership and a secretariat lead in support of the Chair of our special interest group Digital, Cyber and Resilience Group (DCRG). Evolving as a cyber and digital subject matter expert (SME) to support across our ADS colleagues and wider membership. This is an increasingly high profile and vital offer to our members, highlighting integrated solutions, cyber and wider digital and online opportunities and countering evolving threats. This work involves close liaison and support in the work of the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) as well as other key leads in government.
Skills & Competencies
· An interest and understanding of the challenges in the emerging cyber and digital landscape.
· A broad interest and understanding of technology and capabilities used in the Aerospace, Defence, Security and Space sectors.
· Ability to operate at both the operational and policy levels.
· Excellent coordination and organisation skills.
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
· Commercially astute, understanding the need to generate revenue through services and events to the benefit of ADS and its members
· Proficient user of standard Microsoft Office products.
· Customer service focused, particularly through timely delivery of functions to members.
· Strong team player who works openly and collaboratively with colleagues, members and partner organisations.
· Holds a UK national security clearance to SC level or be eligible to hold SC clearance and willing to undergo the vetting process.
The Contract & Benefits
Permanent: fulltime role, Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week.
Salary: £25,000 - £35,000 annually, depending on experience
Location: Either London or Farnborough. Hybrid working - 3 days in the office and 2 days from home.
