We have an exciting opportunity to join a team who are responsible for all aspects of property and asset management, supporting the Senior Asset and Property Manager in the successful management of the Council’s investment portfolio.
What you'll do on a typical day:
The postholder will be responsible for undertaking the day-to-day asset management of industrial, office and retail properties in accordance with legislation and good estate management practice, covering interesting, varied, and high-profile work. You will be responsible for negotiating and agreeing new lettings, rent reviews, lease renewals, lease surrenders and dilapidations claims. You will be responsible for the management and administration of service charge budgets and reconciliations and will be familiar with a variety of surveying disciplines including, but not limited to, valuation, business rates, planning and development.
Skills and experience needed:
* Education to degree level in estate management or an equivalent subject
* Qualified member of the RICS (MRICS/FRICS)
* Experience in property management, professional Landlord and Tenant and managing a large property portfolio
* Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and health and safety within asset/property management
* Good IT skills with the ability to adapt to the Council’s systems and processes
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Good analytical and problem-solving skills
* A team player and able to work independently using your initiative
* Excellent time management and the ability to work to deadlines
* Experience of working within a local authority is desirable but not essential
* Conscientious attitude and attention to detail
* Highly developed organisational skills
