The role offers opportunities for being responsible for the assessing and determining of a varied caseload of planning applications; liaising with colleagues in other Services of the Council and external organisations in connection with development management matters and providing advice on planning matters to the public, developers and Elected Members of the Council; and contributing to Service wide improvement projects. The successful candidates will provide a key role in helping deliver the Development Management performance objectives as part of the Council wide Development Management Service. Applicants who do not hold chartered membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute (MRTPI) are welcome to apply for this role, although it would be at a lesser grade.
