The Role:
As a Neuro-oncology Clinical Nurse Specialist with us, you'll play a pivotal role in delivering expert, patient-centred care to those undergoing anticancer treatment. You will act as a Key Worker, providing personalised support and guidance throughout the treatment journey while collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team to enhance clinical services.
What You'll Do:
1. Act as the main point of contact for a caseload of patients, ensuring seamless care coordination and ongoing support.
2. Provide specialist clinical care, including nurse-led clinics, treatment pathway management, and direct patient support.
3. Work with the multidisciplinary team to improve referral pathways, reduce waiting times, and enhance treatment accessibility.
4. Offer patient education and emotional support, ensuring a compassionate and high-quality care experience.
5. Lead and participate in quality improvement initiatives to continuously enhance clinical practice.
What You'll Have:
1. Registered Adult Nurse with a post-registration qualification in cancer or palliative care.
2. Minimum three years’ post-registration experience, including two years in oncology, palliative care, or neuro-oncology.
3. Previous experience as a Clinical Nurse Specialist or in an advanced practice role (desirable).
4. Experience in audit, research, service development, or quality improvement projects (desirable).
5. Strong communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
6. Ability to work autonomously and within a multidisciplinary team.
7. Advanced communication and psychological skills training (desirable).
