JOB SUMMARY
The post holder will be an expert in MRI and will maintain that expertise at the highest level participating in service delivery on both main and satellite sites over 7 days in line with departmental rosters.
Demonstrate leadership and will be responsible for supporting the management, training, supervision, and monitoring of all staff in their modality-specific area alongside the other CT/MRI Senior team.
They will ensure that best evidence-based practice is used at all times. They will actively contribute to the evaluation and commissioning of new equipment, supporting staff in their use of equipment.
They will assist with developing protocols and standard operating procedures and ensuring compliance within the MRI department.
They will be an expert in MRI safety for the department, working closely with the MRI senior team to ensure that best practice is maintained with regards to MRI safety.

ANALYTICAL AND PLANNING
Using your knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and image parameters, modify your MRI protocol when pathology is identified. You shall adapt techniques and imaging parameters to carry out further scans if required to aid diagnosis.
Participate in the vetting requests in line with clinical pathways and hold discussions with medical teams/referring clinicians regarding relevant protocols.
In liaison with co-workers, ensure the smooth running of the list making clinically informed decisions to manage the emergency, in-patient, and out-patient demands.
Calculate the eGFR to establish the patient’s suitability for contrast agents.
CLINICAL DUTIES
Perform a broad range of scanning procedures to a high level of accuracy, adapting radiographic technique where necessary, following careful assessment of the patient’s condition and the complex clinical information received.
Prioritise workload according to clinical urgency/need when working single-handed and running an area.
