Position: Stores Technician
Location: Glasgow, Head Office
Job Type: Full time, permanent, Monday to Friday, 39.5 hours per week, 8:30am to 5pm Monday to Thursday, 8:30am to 4:30pm on Friday
Salary: £24,648.00 depending on previous experience

Purpose of Role:
To manage both inward and outward stock movements whilst maintaining accuracy and integrity of the inventory records. To ensure all stock records are kept up-to-date maintaining accuracy. To pick pack and ship orders with accuracy to ensure internal/external customers receive goods on time in full.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Ensure correct material handling procedures are followed at all times.
All materials to be handled in accordance with current procedures. Processes to be monitored and improved if required.
2. Strive to maximise efficiency and minimise wastage.
All work carried out is to be recorded accurately. All orders to be dispatched correctly without errors. Paperwork to be filled out correctly and any shortages to be noted on paperwork.
3. Adhere to all Health and Safety rules and procedures.
All legal and Health and Safety requirements must be met. All accidents are to be reported. All potential hazards should be reported as soon as possible. Hygiene the Company Hygiene Policy must be adhered to. To perform job function to highest standard following all published procedures, Health and Safety, Legal, Quality and Environmental Management regulations. All parts of the factory should be kept in a tidy, organised fashion, in constant readiness for ‘third party audits’.
4. Operate in the team.
Be fully aware of how their department is performing. All members of staff should be treated, and treat others, with respect at all times. Get involved in broader activities within the team. Constantly seek areas for improvement. Be fully engaged at regular appraisals, in which training needs and general performance will be discussed.
5. Communicate effectively.
All staff are encouraged to participate actively in team briefs. Departmental performance is a vital objective and ideas to improve should be communicated to your line manager. Carry out administration in a professional manner to ensure the success of the department. Administration activities should be carried out in a correct and professional manner at all times. The paperwork should be accurately completed to ensure an audit trail is possible by external auditors.
Experience:
To be considered for this opportunity it is essential that you have previous experience in a similar role and experience of using stock control software and systems.
Skills / Knowledge:
You will have a qualification or certificate in NC Electrical & Engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or equivalent. You’ll have a strong, working knowledge of Health & Safety standards within a fast-moving manufacturing environment, or be willing to learn.

• Excellent interpersonal skills to be able to build rapport with colleagues across the organisation.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Computer literate.
• Good manual dexterity. Good attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to follow direction and work within agreed parameters.
