The Director of Finance Projects is a strategic leadership role responsible for overseeing the Finance Systems team and Accounts Receivable (AR) operations within Turnitin. This position will report directly to the VP, Global Controller and will be instrumental in driving the transformation of finance systems and processes, ensuring consistency, compliance, and scalable growth within financial operations.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in project management, organizational transformation, and finance operations within complex, global environments. This role requires a proactive, hands-on leader ready to partner across functions and roll up their sleeves to create meaningful change.
Key Responsibilities:
* Finance Transformation Leadership: Partner with the VP, Global Controller to define the future strategy for financial operations, including setting up key performance indicators (KPIs) and implementing a scalable organizational structure to support the company’s growth.
* System and Process Transformation: Lead an ambitious transformation initiative, reengineering finance processes and systems. Utilize prior experience in system and process design to inspire innovation, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
* Business Process Optimization: Manage the transition to optimized finance processes across the organization.
* Team Leadership: Oversee a team of subject matter experts across multiple regions, focusing on finance processes that impact customer billing. Drive team expansion and development as the company grows globally.
* Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as the key finance contact for stakeholders across various departments, ensuring seamless cross-functional collaboration.
Qualifications
Required Experience:
* 10+ Years of Finance Leadership Experience: Extensive experience in senior finance roles within complex, global organizations, ideally with at least five years in a Director-level position or above.
* 5+ Years in Finance Transformation & Project Management: Demonstrated success in leading large-scale finance transformation projects, with hands-on experience in system/process redesign and implementation.
* ERP and Finance System Expertise: In-depth knowledge of ERP systems and subledger management, specifically in Accounts Receivable (AR).
* Operational KPI Design and Reporting: Strong background in designing and implementing operational financial KPIs.
* Proven Change Management Skills: Ability to lead organizational change and drive process improvement.
* Strong Analytical and Strategic Mindset: Skilled at identifying inefficiencies and developing innovative solutions aligned with long-term business goals.
* Excellent Communication and Stakeholder Management: Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively at all organizational levels.
* Experience in Scaling Finance Operations: Ability to build and adapt AR finance processes and teams to support business growth.
* Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is required. A CPA/CA qualification is strongly preferred.
