You will be working for a rapidly expanding firm that specialises in international VAT and tax and accounting for e-commerce businesses that are located internationally and in the UK.
Working from the firm's Southampton office, you will play a crucial role in supporting clients worldwide with their VAT obligations, encompassing tax compliance, VAT advisory services, and e-commerce consultancy. The firm has a client-centric approach and requires their tax professionals to manage a diverse portfolio of clients. Thus, as an Indirect Tax Consultant, you will provide comprehensive advice, offering practical guidance on VAT regulations, cross-border transactions, and ensuring full compliance with VAT laws.
Your remit will include:
1. Providing high-quality VAT consultancy and business advice to your client portfolio continuously.
2. Calculating and filing European VAT returns meticulously and promptly, ensuring the highest level of accuracy.
3. Advising clients on VAT liabilities, guiding them on tax payments, proactively reminding them of outstanding returns, and ensuring compliance with European filings, EC Sales, and Intrastat reporting as required.
4. Communicating with tax offices regarding clients' accounts and obligations.
To succeed in this role, you will require experience working in Law/VAT/Accountancy/Finance and be confident with excellent communication skills for client interaction and engagement (Email, Phone, and face-to-face (ad hoc)). You will be able to work well in a team as well as independently, have excellent verbal and written communication skills, be organised, and have a proven ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. If you have exposure to International E-Commerce, that would be a bonus.
