An opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and motivated Band 6 midwife to join SFHFT in an exciting role within the sphere of diabetes in pregnancy. We are seeking an experienced Band 6 midwife to work closely with the Specialist Midwife for Diabetes, Lead obstetrician for diabetes and the wider Trust diabetic team. This involves adhering to local, regional, and national guidelines, while meeting the objectives of the national maternity agenda.
You will play a pivotal role within the maternity diabetic team working closely with midwives, the endocrine team and other services and partner agencies. You will provide care and advice for pregnant women both over the telephone and in the clinical environment. You will provide educations sessions for women in antenatal clinics and advocate for them ensuring they receive woman-centred care.
You will collaborate with the Specialist Midwife for diabetes in the development of pathways, policies and processes for women with diabetes. You will support the delivery of mandatory and adhoc training for staff and will participate in clinical audit programmes.
