About the Role
This position is within HARMAN’s Automotive business and is responsible for all day-to-day software testing infrastructure activities for globally developed amplifiers and speakers. Developing and managing resources to achieve global tools for reliability execution. The person will coordinate with validation teams and program requirements to stay ahead of technology implementation, providing the best automated solutions.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Lead and support infrastructure team of local and international members.
2. Architect scalable, robust, and error-free software solutions.
3. Develop and release algorithms for testing amplifiers and speakers using automated Anechoic systems with NI LabView/VeriStand/Test Stand and .NET.
4. Develop and implement automated solutions to improve efficiencies of the global Anechoic platform.
5. Support and mentor team members on automated tools and measurement development.
6. Develop test strategies and plans according to business and product requirements.
7. Support global reliability initiatives through processes and procedures.
8. Innovate testing methods for automotive products.
9. Guide junior test engineers.
10. Create automated test scripts using scripting languages.
11. Enable manual and automated testing, including exploratory testing of validation hardware/software.
12. Analyze data using PC-based tools and test instrumentation.
13. Maintain compliance with standards like CMMI/SPICE, ISO.
14. Provide technical support for customer and interdepartmental issues.
15. Maintain test benches and wiring setups.
16. Ensure safe vehicle operation and compliance with policies.
17. Occasional weekend work may be required.
18. Define and plan test tools for reliability testing.
19. Coordinate with the organization for alignment.
20. Communicate effectively with reports, peers, and management.
21. Manage resources, training, and workload balancing.
22. Manage equipment, outsourcing, and licenses.
23. Participate in hiring and resource estimation.
24. Resolve test disputes and review specifications.
25. Support project planning and RFQ processes.
26. Ensure adherence to processes.
Basic Qualifications:
* 10+ years in product or test engineering in embedded environments, preferably automotive or electronics.
* 10+ years creating test plans and cases.
* 3-5 years hardware/software development and usage.
* 3+ years LabView/VeriStand development.
* 5-7 years creating automated test scripts.
* Experience working in collaborative, fast-paced environments.
* Knowledge of anechoic testing and test design methodologies for speakers and amplifiers.
* Proficiency in C++, C#, .NET, SQL, Python, Perl, etc.
* Experience with vehicle networking (CAN, A2B).
* Training in software testing (SQE, ISTQB).
* Knowledge of automotive standards (ASPICE, IATF, ISO).
* Excellent communication skills.
* Problem-solving and bug reproduction skills.
* Project and time management skills.
* Experience with bug tracking (JIRA) and configuration management (Perforce, GIT).
* Proficiency in office software and management techniques.
