Through the development of a trusting relationship provide specialist support for people who are harmed by domestic abuse. Support them to become safe and rebuild their life free from domestic abuse. This includes representing their voice, helping them navigate the criminal justice process and working with statutory agencies to provide wraparound support.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Independent Domestic Violence and Abuse Advisor (IDVA) to join the Domestic Abuse Team at Cheshire West and Chester Council
We have 0.6 FTE IDVA post on a fixed term contract until 31st March 2026.
Our vision is for all residents of west Cheshire to live lives free from domestic abuse. We want to improve the health and wellbeing of individuals and their families who experience domestic abuse, by creating an environment that supports disclosure and recovery for those who are harmed and provides challenge and support for those who harm. This vision underpins our Domestic Abuse Strategy

Our IDVA’s are crucial to the delivery of high-quality services to those harmed by domestic abuse. You will need to be a great team player and be used to responding quickly to high risk and the needs of service users.
Experience in a similar role or experience in providing support to vulnerable people would be preferable but is not essential.

This is a hybrid role which means that time will be spent working at home, working in the community with clients, and working from the office base at Wyvern House in Winsford. however, the team works across the whole of the Cheshire West and Chester area and adopts a flexible and mobile approach to working.
