A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Legal Assistant to join my clients team in their Chislehurst offices.
This role will involve taking files from initial instructions through to file closure under the supervision of a Fee Earner and is a full time role.
Responsibilities:
1. To assist Fee Earners in the management of caseload by dealing with file related queries either face to face or by telephone.
2. To assist Fee Earners in the processing of matters on a timely and cost-effective basis.
3. To support Fee Earners in the maintenance of files by effective file management.
4. To ensure that clients are dealt with efficiently and politely and that appropriate legal matters are raised with the Fee Earner.
5. To attend to clients, taking instructions, and conducting letter and telephone enquiries as necessary.
6. To manage own work allocation, productivity and quality of work with minimum supervision.
7. To ensure our clients receive the best possible service at all times.
Key Objectives:
1. Linking post to client.
2. Using Case Management/Ledger Systems.
3. Verifying client identification in accordance with company Laundering Policy Guidelines.
4. Opening Files issuing initial documentation/client care forms.
5. Reviewing files ready for archiving/closing files.
6. Ensuring all telephone calls are returned within 2 hours of receipt wherever possible or at the latest, prior to close of business on each working day.
7. Produce contract documentation in accordance with the company procedure and policy.
8. Generally, assist the Fee Earner with file progression with their input and guidance.
Experience Required:
1. Good communication skills with the confidence to liaise openly and clearly with colleagues and clients. (Essential)
2. The ability to produce a high standard of work, sometimes under pressure, whilst maintaining accuracy (Essential)
3. Working knowledge of computers and software with good keyboard skills. (Essential)
4. Practical experience of handling client enquiries both face to face and by telephone. (Essential)
5. Working knowledge of Private Client and/or Residential Property. (Desirable)
6. Experience of working in a legal environment. (Desirable)
7. Working knowledge of Solicitors Accounts Rules. (Desirable)
8. Demonstrate a commitment to personal development. (Desirable)
