Situated in the heart of Fife and founded in 1921, Thornton Golf Club is a Par 70, tree lined parkland golf course and is recognised as a welcoming, friendly and inclusive club. The Club has a loyal and supportive membership with a high number of visiting parties and casual visitors, yielding a busy golfing and social calendar throughout the year. We are now looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated individual, couple or partnership to take over the management of the Bar and Catering franchise within our clubhouse and outdoor seating area. The Club offers a fully equipped kitchen, a bar and a dining room and lounge area providing seating for up to 80 people. Working with the Club’s Management Committee, the Franchisee will be expert in maintaining a kitchen and bar that meets the highest health, safety and hygiene standards while maintaining strict stock control and efficient business management. You will be encouraged to generate ideas to help grow the mutual interests of the Club and your franchise. The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate: a proven track record in catering management preferably at a Private Members Club or successful restaurant; the ability to deliver consistently good quality food, including bar snacks, light meals, Sunday lunches, meals for visiting golf parties, team matches and on competition days as well as a variety of club social and private events; good communication and interpersonal skills, with a high focus on customer service, while demonstrating ability to work alongside current staff members and the Club’s Management Committee; commercial skills and initiative, to include online marketing as well as promotion within the Club environment; flexibility of opening hours to meet member and visiting party needs. The successful applicant will hold a Personal Licence and be able to provide all Health & Safety and Food Hygiene certification. Previous experience of working in a golf club environment would be beneficial but, above all, we are seeking someone who is forward thinking, self-motivated and keen to work with us to develop and enhance the Club’s food and beverage service.
