We are currently looking for HV designers / Project Engineers to join our ever expanding team based across the Midlands.
We are keen to speak with enthusiastic individuals that have proven experience within the DNO sector, and are looking for an opportunity to be part of a large scale utilities project.
The role will involve creating designs and providing advice, in line with latest DNO and industry standards, as well as getting involved in the costing, procurement and delivery of these schemes.
Mandatory skills:
* Understanding of Contestable & Non-Contestable scope split
* Proven Experience in HV Distribution sector
The Role:
* To support internal and external stakeholders with technical and network planning activity, design, procurement and/or validation of technical resolutions.
* Advise stakeholders in line with latest policies and network requirements.
* To identify and raise potential H&S concerns.
* To estimate and control costs associated with diversion and protection schemes.
* Review Connection or diversion designs and proposals, identify & resolve any conflicts, supporting local teams in both technical and commercial aspects.
* Ability to interpret network diagrams and source information from these systems.
* Provide support across the projects, providing advice & guidance for technical support, delivery & contract management processes, referring matters to management when appropriate.
* Liaise and interface with direct teams and that of contractors teams to ensure the project is delivered to specification.
* Provide advice or instruction to field staff, internal or external stakeholders.
* Lead and manage the process of ensuring contractors remain safe whilst working in proximity of live apparatus.
Key Skills and Experience:
* Strong skills in management and coordination (distribution engineering & PM experience is essential).
* Good verbal and written communication.
* Aptitude in following agreed processes.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and engineering.
Key Deliverables / Outputs:
* Providing Guidance and technical advice to aid in closing out technical and safety enquiries with field staff.
* Management of the safety enquiries process.
* Upkeep of the projects database and contribution to monthly reporting.
* Ensuring all required governance and compliance requirements are met to enable construction to commence.
* Delivery and project controls for projects in accordance with the approved process.
