Teaching Personnel is recruiting for a committed SEMH Teaching Assistant for a secondary school in Oldham.
We are seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to support students within a secondary school setting, specifically those with additional social, emotional, and mental health needs. As a SEMH TA, you will provide tailored support to help students engage with their learning and manage challenging situations in the classroom.
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with SEMH needs.
- Support students in overcoming barriers to learning and social integration.
- Assist with behavior management strategies to promote positive engagement.
- Work closely with the SENCo and classroom teachers to deliver effective support.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and wellbeing.
- Experience working with young people, preferably within an educational setting.
- A good understanding of SEMH and the challenges students with these needs face.
- Ability to use behavior management strategies effectively.
- Compassionate, patient, and able to build rapport with students.
- Relevant qualifications in education or support (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3 or equivalent) would be advantageous.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
