About The Area
The Staff Contracts team sits within UWA’s People & Culture division and is responsible for ensuring employment contracts are accurate, timely, and aligned with legislative and policy requirements. Supporting recruitment and employment processes across academic and professional appointments, the team plays a vital role in ensuring contracts reflect UWA’s values, policies, and strategic priorities. We work closely with hiring managers, HR colleagues, and central functions to deliver a smooth and compliant employee onboarding experience.
About The Opportunity
1. Lead a high-performing contracts team supporting recruitment across the University.
2. Champion operational excellence and compliance in all stages of the employment lifecycle.
3. Lead and develop a team of eight P&C Officers, driving performance, consistency, and service excellence.
4. Oversee the preparation, renewal, and termination of employment contracts, ensuring alignment with policy, industrial instruments, and legislation.
5. Act as the escalation point for complex queries, collaborating with Legal, Payroll, and other teams to ensure contract terms are fair, accurate, and understood.

1. You bring extensive HR experience and demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and develop high-performing teams.
2. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy solving complex contract and compliance challenges.
3. You have exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with an eye for detail and strong project management capability.
4. You are collaborative, proactive, and experienced in building strong working relationships across a large organisation.
Special Requirements
1. A current National Police Clearance Certificate is required for this position.
